GRRC Track Day (Goodwood Road Racing Club), 16 August 2014
Some very nice GRRC member cars. A real variety on the track from standard road cars to track days specials (like the XJS!). My favourite was the Alfa Giulia Sprint and so I took a load of photos of it.
American Rod & Custom Car Show, Worthing, 27 July 2014
I came across this event by accident a few years back but now I look out for it every year. I am getting to really like American muscle cars and I just love the extreme size of some of the older vehicles, the trucks are great too.
Peter Saywell Track Day, Goodwood Race Circuit, 12 July 2014
Rock n Horsepower, Hurtwood Park, 14 June 2014
If there was ever a question of whether Polo and Cars mix, here is the answer. As ever the weather forecast was scrutinised all week and it looked set fair for Saturday. However an over night storm turned the grass into mush and after a torrential downpour during the day the whole lot turned into a quagmire. I got away as soon as I could and got home with a filthy car but I got home. But there were some nice cars.
Music and Muscle, Bell Tower, Fort Myers, Florida, U.S.A. 11 May 2014
This very much reminded me of the Worthing American car show but with palm trees and shorts. An amazing mixture of old and very old, sensible and ridiculous, of compact and gargantuan. But always interesting. And I now know for sure that American cars have ALL the best names, we have: a Mustang, a Stingray, a Camaro, a Road-Runner, a Thunderbird, a Firebird, an Impala, a GTO (Pontiac!), a Challenger, a Viper and my new favourite and a new car for me, the Chevelle SS.
Brands Hatch, 04 May 2014, MG Car Club Championship & Ferrari Owners Club Pirelli Race Series
Whilst Goodwood Supercar Sunday was a tempter I decided to forego a stupid AM start and the enormous crowds for a much more sedate Sunday at Brands Hatch. And it was a good decision, with some good friends, perfect weather, good racing and the great circuit that is Brands Hatch it was a really excellent day. O.J. Butler contributed some of the photos.
Horsham Piazza Italia, 18 April 2014
I got the car back on the Thursday afternoon before Good Friday after a bit of a refurb and detail and the car looked stunning. I ended up with a few more small people finger/hand prints this year than previous but after a quick wash and dry the car looks pretty sharp once again.
This was a really good event with the slight change from previous years where ten Classic's went into Horsham first (16659 included) to be "presented" to the crowd. Then we parked up in The Forum and the rest followed an hour or so later. Was a great weather and the crowds of people were enthusiastic as ever. And all brilliantly organised, as we have come to expect.
Then I went back on Bank Holiday Monday to see scooters, a couple of lovely British bikes and the Super Cars.
