Vintage Car Boot Sale, Southbank, London 12th October 2013
12th October is getting a little late for me to be attending events in the Daytona and all week the weather forecast for this Saturday was going from bad to dreadful then on Friday the pesky weather front in question shifted to the North and we were back in business. This was a good event in a great location with the London Eye dominating the sky line and the Houses of Parliament just along the Thames. The focus here was definitely on the Boot Sale with the cars a bit of an aside though, as ever, people are interested and once again I met and chatted to some really pleasant enthusiastic folk.
Peter Saywell Charity Track Day, Goodwood 28th September 2013
These does are held a few times a year. Lots of money raised for charity, children get to ride in the cars for a few parade laps and the cars are stunning, both in the car park and out on track. Despite my childish behaviour I did not get a ride!
Burpham Auto Historica, 1st September 2013
From Ferrari Daytona to E-Type to Ford Cortina to Morris Marina to 90 year old Astons to some great motor bikes, it is all at Burpham. This is a really good event staged on the cricket pitch at Burpham. The local Ferrari Owners groups showed up for a few hours with a very nice display of cars but I stayed for the day and went home with a cup for the 70's Pride of Ownership award and also a birthday cake (seriously) from the organisers to mark my car's fortieth birthday (first registered 01/09/73). It is that kind of do!
Michelham Priory, FOC Sussex/Surrey PicNic
After the torture of our journey home from the Concours last week (M25!!!) it was a relief to just be travelling 25 miles along the A27. Another gorgeous day (possibly getting a bit too hot but I am not going to complain) and a very lovely location. Some very nice FOC cars out and also some interesting stuff as part of the Michelham Vintage Car day.
Bristol Auto Italia 2013
Saturday 20th April and the best weekends weather of the year so far, even if we did manage to leave and drive into a heavy shower within a few miles of home. Some stunning cars: Alfa Superleggera (my fave), Alfa Duetto, Lancia Fulvia (celebrating fifty years!), Fiat 500's, Lambo Aventadore (completely bonkers and perfectly stunning) and a ton of lovely motorbikes. Some lovely people, in particular seven year old Luke from Neath in Wales (eight on 1st May, very important when you are only seven!) already a car nut, fantastically enthusiastic (see first photo) and full of curiosity. Luke, his Dad and all the other people we spoke to make the day.
*Struggling a bit with my new camera, as a result not a single decent photo of the Daytona. Reds appear a tad orange too....working on it.

Horsham Piazza Italia 2013
29th March, Good Friday, and we are off...... car out of storeage yesterday (Thursday), off to South Lodge Hotel and then the streets of Horsham on Good Friday. After such a dreadful winter we got the best we could hope for, dry and cold with the odd glimpse of sunshine. All brilliantly organised by the fine offices of the Sussex branch of the Ferrari Owners Club.
